Love is in the Aero

A while ago I did a post on the stunningly beautiful Saab 9-3 HOT Aero convertible, I’ve owned 2 in the past, but am finding myself longing for another now that Spring is in the air.

I swear they don’t age, I started looking around to see what was available and just fell in love all over again, absolutely timeless.

These are seriously fun Saabs – 205hp as standard and built with such great attention to detail you feel utterly cocooned once you’re inside. Leather sculptured seats almost as good as the 9000 Aeros, a classically Saab dash and a mohair roof that comes down super fast.

Add a few goodies from Abbott Racing – A chunky ECU upgrade, stainless steel exhaust, 25mm suspension drop and a Viggen Rescue Kit and to me, this is a near perfect Saab.

I just have to persuade my wife this is a ‘must have’ but then there’s the 9000 project too

  1. The 9-3 Aero Convertible (MY01 => MY03) for me has been the SAAB “most desirable” and “most wanted” of all who have had / have owned.

Five years ago I bought it in Belgium and here in Andalusia is a car to enjoy all year round.

Is virtually nothing new about from shipped; I have only done a careful preventive maintenance and several improvements like brake kit 308mm. or reinforcement steering kit created by Abbott Racing.

In almost 5 years I has enjoyed a 60K Km. of pleasure over many European roads (Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany …). I still have many years to continue enjoying a lot of Kms. in a car for my unique in every way and conditions.

    Good luck with the search.

    • MF – I can’t really imagine a better place to own a 9-3 Aero convertible than Andalusia, just as long as the air con works well for those seriously hot days 🙂
It sounds like you’ve really enjoyed it, I’m still trying the persaude my wife we need a third Saab on the driveway.

And I love the images, thank you.

  2. Honestly I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the story and pictures of my Aero Convertible. In Andalusia is not pleasant to drive top down in mid-summer day with high temperatures (> 25 ° C). However, at sunrise and sunset is a pleasure to drive and anytime of the other seasons.

Although not easy, hopefully soon find your drive and enjoy for many years without getting any limit for change. I’m sure your wife will thank acquisition.

    Greetings:

    MF
