The High Mile Club; established back in June 2012, has been one of the most visited pages on Saab vs. Scepticism, it’s kind of done what I set out to do – to prove Saabs are built to last. Old and new Saabs have been sent in from all over the globe, great stories, sad stories, stories full of passion and pride, stories of a lifetime of journeys.
Recently a regular reader and member of the SAAB Automobile Club Andalucía gave me permission to use a couple of his club’s High Milers too, so I thought I’d do a special post as the combined mileage of just 9 Saabs is well over 2 million kilometres (1.5 million miles).
I’ve always been proud of my high mile Saabs, where 100,000 miles is ‘just run in’ as my Dad would say, but what I didn’t realise is that I was in such good company within the Saab community. Far from being embarrassed about our old Saabs, they are something to be celebrated and shared, symbols of the kind of craftsmanship not easily found in many other marques.
