I’ve said this many times before, but ever since I first started to notice Saabs, there was one that just epitomised the brand; the stunning 9000 Aero. It wasn’t just its Bauhaus sharpness or timeless elegance, but the interior too, as any Saabist will confirm, the interior of a 9000 Aero is exceptionally special. The seats; designed by Recaro, remain some of the most ergonomic seats ever crafted, they coset you in a way modern design can only dream of doing, and nearly 30 years on, their comfort still remains.

9000 Aeros are becoming increasingly rare, in fact, according to How Many Left, this is one of only 100 or so genuine Aeros currently on the road in the UK. This beautiful Silver Aero has a story to to share, and if it weren't for the dedication of Tom Boorman; a 9000 specialist and his father, this one might have been lost forever - It had always been a known Saab, owned by a friend of Tom's father, and left decommissioned back in 2016 with a few mechanical faults, then purchased by Tom and his father in 2021 and subject to a bit of a clean up and mechanical overhaul in 2023

It's also had the important welding sorted, underside and inner wings in wonderful condition, with 2 new front wings and various other parts replaced. The windscreen has been taken out, small rust areas addressed and a new screen and rubber fitted. Inside, the superb interior is very clean and comfy, seats in great condition and fully cleaned and treated. Black dashboard with all bulbs replaced, so illumination excellent and bright.

I've owned this one for a number of months now, and I can honestly say, it's a fantastic 9000 Aero manual which pulls beautifully well, the engine feels crisp and responsive, and it really is the perfect classic daily driver to me.
