2005 Saab 95 Vector Sport 270

I'd been searching for another late sharktooth 9-5 for a while now, but they're getting harder to find in good condition, so this one was a real gem. Previously owned by a gentleman in Bristol for its entire life, and purchased from Williams Saab back in 2005. Cared for initially by Williams, and then Saab specialists, it has only covered 99,950 miles and comes with an exemplary MOT history.

Although it was a Vector Sport, it came with a wonderful specification including optional sunroof, AS3 audio with Harmon Kardon and sat nav, folding mirrors and dark walnut dashboard and console. I considered changing the leather and fabric sports interior for full leather, but again it was in almost immaculate condition and superbly supportive and comfortable. The only slight negative was the lack of power from its original Garratt low pressure turbo, so we changed it for an Aero spec Mitsubishi TD04 and all associated hardware. Having fitted the new Turbo, we've also remapped the Saab from 185hp to Aero Stage 1 270hp; it now drives exactly as it should and feels wonderfully responsive.

It's had all mechanical work done as you'll see from the list below, needless to say, many jobs hadn't been done recently and it's always a pleasure to have these Saabs running beautifully again. The subframe needed new bushes and the drop links replaced, it also required new discs and pads all round. For future safety, it's had the sump dropped, cleaned and carefully sealed again, and a full service completed. We've also undertaken the arduous task of replacing the broken gear sleeve meaning the interior now feels showroom fresh again, it's also had the great BlueSaab Bluetooth unit installed for steaming music through the OE audio.

I planned to repaint a number of sections of the car, but it's very clean and original, the doglegs are in excellent condition with only minor bubbling on one side, so rather than complete the paintwork, I'm keeping the car more affordable and letting it's new owner either enjoy it as is, or take it up to the next level.

I've currently fitted my set of Hirsch 18" Classic 6 spoke alloys, but these are optional on purchase. If not required, the car will come with its original ALU39, which are also in great condition.

These have always been one of my favourite Saabs, and the 9-5 is steadily gaining the respect it truly deserves. This is a wonderfully genuine, low owner and low mileage Saab that will bring a lot of pleasure to its new owner, I'll finish it off with the recent praise from Top Gear :

“The 9-5 may have had the greatest driver focused, button filled interior of all time. It also looked fantastic, was hugely reliable and could do 0–62mph in under 7.0 seconds. All the car you would ever need?”
